and found his way.
Jordan won bronze in kumite (sparring) at the US Open in Las Vegas two weeks ago. This is a major achievement to win any medal at this tournament, which is considered to be the most difficult one of the year in the US. Our amateur Americans must compete against state sponsored teams from around the world. Jordan came back from being almost down and out and beat competitors from Venezuela, Japan and Australia in back-to-back matches to win the bronze.
The following week he became the US Western Qualifier champion by winning gold and finally beating his rival for the first time. He has now been asked by his head sensei to attend the US Nationals at Florida in July to compete and try out for Team USA. The kid has come a long way in over 6 years! His confidence in his abilities has arrived. I'm a very proud dad!
