The gray is quite nice, and I think brown would do the watch justice as well. I don't know if you've seen this, but there is a new Reverso that is quite thin and simple. I love it and I think they've outdone themselves.
Regarding beauty, it's out there, as well as in our heads. The first time a child sees the head of a sunflower (not in a picture, but holding a really big one in her hands, seeing the curves, the color, the magic layout of the seeds, the weight of it) they're presented with beauty with a capital B, and most of 'em just get it. Kids know what beauty is.
It's the adults I worry about.
