      Look at it this way, I could go to the gym and loose 1.2 kilos fairly easy and improve my long term health... wink.gif, so you got to figure there are other factors beside the weight. (note you could do both for a net of 2.4 kilos wink.gif).

      I have to agree that from time to time the big black dSLRs get old to lug around. The 40D and 100mm macro is a good kit... and will be serviceable for some time to come.

      I have no experience with the Lumix DMC GH2 (with or without a macro). If you can afford it... why not. I guess you have looked at the examples on flickr...

      Accessories (flash etc) are no problem?

      For fun you could try a Leica film rangefinder with the Visoflex System (it's a mirror reflex box that goes between the camera and lens that allows you to focus on a ground glass)...
