The top of Mount Diablo gets snow maybe two to three times per year. We were lucky enough to be there right after it happened. It's not Swiss mountain snow quality but pretty cool otherwise. happy.gif

That second image... around the curve is very nice

I like the hint of the curve and the b&w presentation. Very clear/ clean fog bank as well.

Lovely series,
Casey

Thanks Casey! This scene just sort of presented itself. >>>

One moment we were in sunny weather--the next we were in a mini winter wonderland. Yes, I kept that curve as a hint of the road to travel.

i like it. because it is so every day. just there. i wonder if this was easy for you to spot, let alone frame or if it was just a casual snap. but you know, one man's snapshot is another man's art. interested in your thought process behind this one.

Thanks much Echi! Mount Diablo receives such rare snow...>>

maybe two to three times per year because its highest elevation is 2700 feet. We were driving on a big winding road slowly up the mountain in partly cloudy weather surround by greenery when, all of a sudden, the world turned grey and we stepped out of our car to this winter wonderland. All the trees and bushes had this light coating of snow and ice to make them all seem like delicate structures. This particular scene just seemed to have the right balance of flora, delicate ice, snow and a hint of a curve (when standing just so) as to make that road's destination a bit mysterious IMO.

The shot was taken with my 50 mm 1.4 and converted using a B&W plug in to PS. Added extra contrast of course to make the branches and ice/snow pop. The scene reminds me of when I was a kid in Connecticut playing in woods which looked almost like that. Glad you liked it. happy.gif
