Actually the season just ended. They grow up a little each year, but thankfully they still like baseball.

So all of the pictures except the last one were of Evan's team in the pee wee league. The last image is Owen's team, two years older. They have three coaches instead of one and are more 'serious', if you can say that with a straight face about ten year olds. The image of Owen's pep talk was from Saturday just before the championship game, which they won. Last year his team was last place. Life is sweet. happy.gif

What amazes me with these "little" league type teams...

more than the kids is the dedication that the older folks give to the team (coaches, assistants). I don't think they get paid so giving their time and themselves to participate in kids' growing up years is always commendable.

Guess you're already popular with the kids, eh?

I have that song of Mellencamp, Jack and Diane, and Springteen's Born in the USA on my car's head unit. Somehow that US vibe just goes well with these pics. Ever considered putting your Americana stuff on iMovie with some nice heartland type tune to go with the slides? I bet you it's going to be fun and interesting happy.gif

Great series as always!

Thanks Echi,

I can barely handle the pictures, so music is definitely a non-starter. happy.gif

And you're right; the coaches, assistants, groundskeepers, etc are parents and friends, and it's work to make it all happen. But of course it's worth it, just as it was when I was a kid.

Cheers,

Jeff

The images from the dugout are great...

and even a mom in there with the boys wink.gif. The detail is fantastic, particularly the reflection in the eyes... and, sorry, it's not just your photo technique, the boys love baseball.

I had fun with the game, but didn't excel on the field... never got a hit in all my years, missed many fly balls in center field, and I think the "coach" had one or two beers before the game... But I would not have passed it up for anything.

In that last image at first I it strange that everyone was named Andrew Dorman...

Yes summer is upon us.

I suspect

that these photos will be very appreciated in the future. Not only because of the subject (nice portraits, BTW), but also because of what Echi says. In an uncanny way, they look timeless. Maybe that's the Americana part doing its trick.
