I had an SV328 when I was a kid, and still have it.. then I used tapes, wich ofcoz sucks.. so when I was at a fleamarket and found a broken SV328 with a expansionbox, diskinterface and diskdrive I bought it without blinking.. I quickly replaced the 328 with my old one, and everything seem to work normally.. except the diskdrive.
How do I use it ? I have a VEEERY vauge memory of that you shpuld "boot" from a special disk if you want to use the diskdrive ? is that correct ? ..well, if so.. I have a problem, I dont have it..
Or is there a easier way ?
It's so ironic that I used the 328 so much, but get stuck at the smallest problem :/
Also all my tapes with games seem to be demagnetized.. is there some way to get all my fauvorite games again ?

Hello,
You need a bootable diskette for using Disk Basic or CP/M. I can make copy for you, what kind of expander do you have (SV-601, SV-605 or SV-605B)? The reason for asking is that there is a different version for a system using double sided disk drives.
The SVI-328 ROM only contains a routine for loading the boot sector to address C100H and then executes the loader. The first 3 tracks are reserved for the operating system.
When using Basic and for example the "FILES 1" statement which displays a list of all files on the first drive. The built in ROM Basic decodes the FILES statement and executes the handler (73B2H) but the only code is a call to a hook, H.FILE (FEB8H). This hook contains normally a return and you get an "Illegal function call". The Disk Basic loader initializes this hook with a jump to the FILES routine (E4BCH).
You can test the condition of your disk drives using the machine code format programs called "svfrmt" and "basfrmt". These programs can be found on the Disk Basic system diskette. The format programs probably doesn't use any Disk Basic routines so you can load them from cassette.
Regarding your cassettes, here are some tips:

I would try: adjusting the alignment of the head, cleaning the head and increasing the volume of the recording.

Use the following commands to load and save the format programs:
Hi.
I have sv902 floppy drive, svi605 expander and svi601 but i have no
disks, neither cp/m nor diskbasic.
I only have disk images.
It's possible to transfer image on real disk?
If it isn't possible, someone could make me a copy?
Thanks a lot.
