The Siren.
A few of us were talking about it last week.
Man, do I miss The Siren...and for the life of me, I cannot recall even about when it "disappeared" from the scene. None of us really had a definitive idea as to what happened to it.
On the other end of the spectrum, I also cannot recall if it was part of the scene when I started watching Forks football (as an 11 year old) in 1966. What's the earliest season anyone can recall for certain that it was cranked up?
We ought to get a new one. Not sure if it falls into Section 4's "no noisemakers" or not though...
Mike
P.S. Crank that sucker up in the Dome is probably a sure way to be shown the door.
Mike - I think the same nice man that goes to the JV games that does the music may have done the siren. Or my other thought is Mr. Haskell.
I checked with Joe Aston and he remembers the siren! The siren went to an away game years ago and was lost. At that time Joe tried to buy another one and could not find one. He thinks there is a sec IV rule preventing cow bells and loud noice. He suggested we check with Mr. Perkins before getting a new one.
mike we had the siren for a long time and the year lubert played someone asked to take it to an away game i reluctantly let them and it was never seen again. i to think that ralph haskel had something to do with it originaly. i looke d everywhere to buy one but couldnot find one check with perk and if he gives an ok see if you can find one

When I said "we ought to get a new one", I really didn't mean me...just who might had been doing it when it was last used/seen.
The noise rules haven't changed in the last decade from wha tI hear read at all games, but if we suddenly had a new one cranking up after 8 or 9 years without one, the section might crack down. Has we been using it all along without a break, I guess we'd still be using it today with little or no complaints. (except again, in the Dome)
