Sadly, 1967 Varsity football player Dan Darling (Class of 1968) passed away last Friday in Maryland.
His obituary from Monday's Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin:

of Lexington Park, Md.
Commander Daniel E. Darling, USNR, 55, of Lexington Park, Md., died Friday, April 28, 2006, of an apparent heart attack during training exercises at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. He is survived by his lovely wife of 34 years, Kathy (Manfre) Darling, Lexington Park; by his children, Adam, Gainesville, and Rebecca, Orlando, Florida, and Captain Joshua, U.S. Army, a veteran of a tour of duty in Iraq, stationed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington; by his parents, Margaret and Edward Darling, Kattelville; his siblings and their spouses, Eric and Maureen Darling, Greene, Marlayne and Bill Jackson, Harrisburg, Pamela and Mark Hall, Binghamton, Andrew and Paula Darling, Great Falls, Va., and Jeremy Darling, Pittsburgh; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Daniel was a graduate of Chenango Forks High School, Broome CC, RIT, and SUNY at Buffalo, where he met Kathy. He served his country faithfully while in the Marines and the Navy at bases from the central Pacific Ocean to Germany.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 3, at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Lexington Park, where he was a communicant and choir member, and local services will be by arrangement with the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, on Monday, May 8, with more details to be announced later.

Funeral services for Commander Daniel E. Darling, USNR, will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Severine Yagaza, pastor of St. Christophers Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
