Sadly, the Chenango Forks, Maine-Endwell, Ithaca and Mt Upton communities learned today of the passing of former head coach Dick Russ after a brief illness. The local newspaper will undoubtedly have an article or two, and of course calling hours and funeral arrangements when the details have been finalized.

I will be setting up a page at forksfootball.com for tributes and other messages for anyone who knew, was taught by or coached by Mr. Russ throughout his career - and would like to contribute such messages. If you have anything you want to convey on this page, you can either email me or post them on this discussion board and I will take them from here for the page.

While you do not have to, I encourage you to include your name and when and where you played for Coach Russ (Mount Upton, Chenango Forks football and wrestling, Maine-Endwell, the TC Jets, Cornell sprint football) or when he taught you at Chenango Forks, or whatever relationship you had with Coach that you would like to include.

Rest peacefully Coach. I will forever remember and forever miss your tutelage in "the pit" and on the gridiron at CFCS.
