Yes, or just make a connector out of a 2mm sheet of Teflon. What is the optimum aperture for the Minolta AF sensors to work at, f2.8? i know those buggers are tuned for aperture ranges, but haven't seen a comment on precisely what Minolta uses in their cams. Presumably one would be quite a waltz with the aperture, shutting it down to get focus confirmation then moving it to the exposure aperture and somehow getting the correct shutter speed in the process;-}
The real fun though would be in making something that might be more saleable: like a retrofit kit for one of the 1.1x MC->MAF converters, or a M42 converter, which externalized the connectors to a PIC chip and some kind of switches/display which would give the user a way of fooling a MAF camera into thinking it was talking to some specific lens ... even though there was just some adapted manual lens attached. Lets say 4 buttons to go up/down in aperture & focal length. Probably the two for aperture are unnecessary. And one could do with a single button to cycle through the FL options. However some means is needed to give feedback as to what FL is selected as i don't think any Minolta cameras report that information in their finders, sadly. Audio? Or perhaps just labels on a Pot. | |
