Now, lots of you mentioned that you like the neighborhood joints. Well, you'll love Schnell's on 4th St. in Marrero. The Algerine and I had breakfast there this morning. The food is good old down-home breakfast and half the price of IHOP. I had the two eggs scrambled, bacon, a pile of grits, a biscuit and an endless cup of coffee. He had the two eggs over easy, fried ham, the same size pile of grits, a biscuit and endless coffee. The waitress was very attentive and personable. Outside decor is nothing to write home about, the inside sorta resembles a hunting lodge...complete with Bambi's uncle staring from the wall.
