I had the Pampy's Early Bird Special--$13.95 or so for soup or salad, entree, and desert. Had Creole Gumbo which was very hot (temperature wise) and wasn't loaded with rice. Beyond that, I don't have much good to say about it. Entree was a pork dish with tasty new potatoes and a decent veggie medley. My pork was dry--the sauce, which seemed to me to be a Creole mustard "stretched" with some mayo tasted like...Creole mustard stretched with mayo.

Best part of the meal was the bread pudding. However, the 'plating' of (whisky?) sauce and (what tasted to me like) Hershey's syrup and a sliced strawberry elevated the mundane. This was very good--and the only part of the meal that we took home (how gauche!).

Not at all a bad amount of food for the price, and not bad food with good service in a comfortable (if noisy) environment. This was mediocre food. One might do better to order from the regular menu, but I've never done that so can't recommend it.

My meal wasn't great by any means, but I could see where it had potential and I am very likely to give it another chance for that reason. I had the crab & corn bisque, which had way too much cream, for my tastes. Others might like it. My pork, like Mr. Lake's, was dry, but I liked the potatoes and veggies; and the bread pudding was wonderful. For $13.95, I feel like I can't complain too much. I would love to order off the regular menu, though. PC's tilapia was very good, though.

At our end of the table, Martinibill raved about his pasta dish, and I think Tchoup enjoyed her catfish, but I'll let them speak for themselves. I did like the space, and the service was good. None of us was sitting there waiting for our food, like often happens with large parties. And yes, it was noisy, but we sure helped contribute to some of that! Fun time.

I started with the mango breeze martini, it was too sweet. I also had the special. I had the fried catfish and that and the potato salad were wonderful. I thought the veggie medly was overcooked. The bread pudding ws very good. My husband ordered off the menu and got the ribs, which were good. I, too will go back & try ordering off the menu. The restaurant was a nice space, but unbelievably loud! The company was stellar!

I think I was the lucky one as far as entrees. My pasta dish was chunk full of shrimp, spicy sausages, crawfish tails and a few other mysterious ingredients tossed in a highly spiced tomato sauce. Very good if you like highly spiced foods...and I do.
Kerry, my sweetie, was less impressed with the pork tenderloin. I sampled and agree. It was room temperature and overcooked(dry).
The bread pudding was the 2nd best part of the dinner. It runs a close 2nd to the Bon Ton for my favorite. I prefer the Bon Ton's because it is served warm and with that killer whiskey sauce. But this was damn good.
I think I have an issue with "Early Bird" specials. But that's another discussion.
