Response to Re: all jr,teams to provincials |

Here's a chance to realize your dreams. I have stated in another forum some time ago that the current system is just not fair and consistent enough with how teams should be rated and advance to the Provincials. Forget league games since not all the opposition is the same for all teams. The only place we play against each other is at tournaments. Why not rate the tournaments by some statistical weighting process, e.g., High rated would include Solid Goal, Mississauga, Silver Stick, etc and then devise a weight for how each team places in the tournament (there are plenty of stats already available to do this). Doing it this way, winners of the insignificant tournaments, that have very little true opposition will not be rated as high as winners of Mississauga. Each team will know where they stand in March and know what they have to achieve to get to the Provincials. No one can get in just because they are the sole team in some geographical area (arbitrarily set).
