Response to Re: Owha has positioned Brampton in Pool A,Stony creek in Pool B
Each team on a five team pool will play an extra game against the additional team in their pool. ALL games will count using the rules as out lined in the OWHA Handbook.
i. Number of wins;
ii. Record against other tied teams;
iii. Goals scored minus goals against in round robin play;
iv. Fewest goals allowed in round robin play;
v. Most periods won in round robin play;
vi. Fewest penatly minutes in round robin play;
vii. First goal scored in series;
viii. Most goals scored;
ix. Flip of a coin.
Hope this answers your question.
There really is no adavantage or disadvantage for any team. These games are only 30 minutes in length, a casual skate for teams of this calibre. The extra game actually allows a team to recover from a flat outing. If game length was where it should be for a Provicial Championship (15-15-15), then the extra game could be construed as a disadvantage due to the short time frame between matches.
Why a 20 team division was chosen is a question that would require a board meeting to resolve. Cheers
