OK thought I would have a go at looking at who will triumph on the weekend.
Pool A - Probably the weakest pool top to bottom.
Did not lose until Christmas. Played .500 since then. Lost to Aurora in the first round of the playoffs. Hasn't played a meaningful game in over a month.
Finished .500. Beat Barrie in the first round. Went 3 games against a tough Mississauga team.
Did well in the ODWHA. Struggled in tournaments against quality LLFHL teams.
Pool B - A slightly stronger pool than Pool A
Kingston - Last place in the ODWHA. 3 and out here.
Waterloo - A tough team that is stronger than their record suggests coming from the LLFHL west. Beat a very good Bluewater team in the playoffs and played Ancaster tough.
Whitby - First in the LLFHL east. Enigmatic. Can be amongst the best and then can mail in some games. Lost in the first round of the playoffs
Pool C - The group of death. All from the LLFHL west so they will know each other.
Burlington - A very strong team with no real weaknesses. But somehow can play down to the opposition.
Bluewater - Another good squad. Suffered a bit at year end losing to Waterloo.
Windsor - Better than their record against some good LLFHL west teams. Won't roll over. However....
Pool D - A physically tough pool.
Ancaster - The team to beat. First in the LLFHL west. Will be playing in the LLFHL championship weekend. Struggled to get past Waterloo to do so. Will come up against 2 very different opponents.
Brampton - The Broad street bullies of this age. Very tough and physical. Average more PIM than even an NHL team! Tops in the NHL for a 60 minute game is Anaheim at just over 18 minutes. If Brampton played a 60 minute game this team would have 21 minutes a game in penalties! The team they played the most this season is in the pool with them.
Leaside - Can play with the best. Can play worse than the worst. Only other team beside Ancaster to be playing in LLFHL weekend and provincials. Beat Brampton to advance in playoffs.
