Other than the normal replacement of overage players and some movement from Midget to Jr. there will not be much change. Moving from one club to another will be difficult as the tryouts almost all conflict. Try out for one team and you miss most of the other tryouts except another age group in your own organization. The conflicts or more common this year than last.
If you are thinking of moving to a new organization you better do some serious sucking up to your current team in case you don't make the new team 'cause you are likely going to miss some or all of the try outs.

Thats what they are jr's they should have stayed and played Midget out of the class. that coach has not lived up to what she says she can do BIG let down. her girls are looking at teams elsewere and she has players from this year asking girls to come out to what is the best team in CANADA haha why are your players looking at other teams for next season, maybe you should be trying to talk your own girls to stay and leave other teams alone. O ya they got a BY to provincials dont you think the so called big JR teams should have to compete for a spot like everyone else, all the provincials is to the Intermediate teams is a big joke just another tournament to see whos haveing a better weekend, if they had playdowns some teams would have there season DONE by now.

are you going? Hamilton? Burlington? Is it any better over there? Mississauga? They don't need too many as with the Ice and the Dolphins. So, where are you going to my lady blue.

All I can say is pray to the hockey gods, hope for the best - and don't burn your bridges. Stay positive, keep communications open. Assess your current situation, possible back up plans... but if you think your position is sketchy, keep a low profile with the current organization because as soon as you open your mouth that you are looking elsewhere or someone else is interested you're so done right there. Take caution always, work your hardest and show the team your goin for what your all about, what you have to offer, and what you want to do. If the team picks you, you are rewarded.. but "rejection" usually means you weren't fit to be with that coach and your better off elsewhere in the longrun. But somewhere you may have to draw the line. With tryouts conflicting and a lot of permission to skates and releases flying around there's got to be a better way for the kids... congratulations to the person who figures it out.
Tryouts can be a very scary time, I wish everyone the best, even the guy who calls himself seymore over there. And remember.. everything will work out in the end, even if you may not recognize it at first.

I kind of left everyone hanging there with just pray...sorry! you really sounded like u needed some advice. Here's a more elaborate version of the generalization I made:
There's a lot you should do off the ice than on the ice. Parents play a very key role in determining the fate of their child. The parent needs to be social with other parents and express their commitments, even at the intermediate age where the child is no longer a child but still living at home who should be doing things on their own. Never speak of weakness in your child, Never speak extremly highly of your child, or talk down about someone elses. You need to express that you take as much intrest in your child's activity as they do. It`s as if anything you say can and will be used against you, right up until final rosters are sent in. You never know who you`re talking to at the tryouts.
If you need a permission to skate go striaght to the president of the organization and get it, do not inform your coach! he doesn't need to know. I would think that a coach would find out eventually since the excutive and these guys are USUALLY pretty tight.. but if you have a good reason let them know... i.e play at a higher level that they dont' offer, moving closer to home. and tell them your first choice is to stay with them but you dont' want to be screwed out of a team and if that person has any decency they are obligated to respect you.
Worst case senario if you are really unlucky someone will find away to come in and screw you somehow and it simply isn't fair, everyone knows it but doesn't say anything. It doesn't matter if you are the nicest, hardworkin, unbiased, potenial filled, experienced player around, there are people who will think their doing the right thing for what they feel they need at another's expense.
"Rejection" can be taken 3 ways.. your really not ready for that caliber, the nasty polical way, or the someone's got to go and your outta luck!!! I've seen and heard of all kinds of storys in my day, in every team sport..any combination of those 3. <<Remember it's often what is not said than what is said that hurts the most>> unfortunatly.. that's the way it goes.. no one is willing to stick up for what is right in fear of jepordizing their own position. c'est la vie.
If the coach can give you an honest straight up answer and still offer you realistic alternatives, then that's very cool. That's an awesome coach, you can live with that. But one who makes up some dumb excuses or says nothing at all... wow~ good rithens. And it happens.
THERE are many different situations that I can come up with but that's up for you to assess (I don't have that kind of time) and decide all the "what ifs" and which way do I want to take my chances.
Keep your communications out there and you`ll never be lost..If you find yourself running around in circles don't stop, there's got to be something better than nothing, whether you choose to accept it or not.
As seymore informed me in another forum. I know what i failed to mention in another thread:
-it's not about the scholarships, those are few and far between
-it's about the kids who's parents are fortunate enough to support them lovingly and financially at the highest level they can possibly play at, in the past, present and future
-it's about who wants it more and is willing to do whatever it takes, whether it's right or wrong
-it's about the kids having fun and being with a group of people you can last a whole season with, comming away a better person in the end!!!
I hope any little thing I said tonight can go a long way for someone.

By 'shopping', do you mean that Mississauga are contacting other organizations to see if they're interested in taking on existing Mississauga players? I assume to make room for new players coming on board? Without the existing players knowledge? That's not very nice, is it? Or have I misinterpreted? Lotsa questions. Feel free to answer any or all of them.

You must be refering to the one and only Doug Foster!
He's very good at convincing players that they're the missing link to his junior team! I was one of those players and then I got cut during the final try-out, thankfully I had a team to fall back on! I haven't been the only one that he's done this too and I'm sure that there are many more to come! On the other hand, there have been players that have made the team! Do what's right for you! Scouts will see you regardless what team you play for! Good Luck!

You sound a little bitter.....maybe someone better ended up at the try out or you just weren't good enough......either way there is a chance of getting cut at any tryout you attend. I doubt you were given any promises that you would make they team cause I just don't see that happening......

all the time, especially in Missy. They have already promised girls (from other teams) a spot on their team for next season. Stoney Creek has also promised spots for next season to other girls from other teams. So yes it happens, all kinds of promises being made.

Boles must be holding something over the Stoney Creek press, if not why has she not been replaced by now. Her career at the Guelph University didn’t last long when she helped out there. I you want to know anything at all at Boles just ask her she loves herself, she is not very professional when she is working for the OWHA in clinics the 1st hour of the clinic she waste everyone’s time in tell all about herself and what she has done who really cares we don’t even want to be at the clinics no one listens its just a money grab for OWHA and we have to do it. Boles keep’s doing these clinics and that’s why she helps out with the u18 teams not because she’s the right choice because she has an inside. Time to move on and get yourself a life or a man
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
You sure are bitter. You must be one of the girls Boles cut last year who couldn't skate. Boles record speaks for itself. Her team is almost all Midget aged players playing up. Whats wrong with that? I see nothing wrong with promising spots to players. It is a free country isn't it? Or are some of you jealous that no team has offered you a spot yet. This happens in boys hockey all the time. This is JUNIOR hockey not peewee or novice so lets move on to more interesting topics instead of mindless putdowns.
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
my guess is that if promises are made they are promises that they would seriously consider looking at you for the team. A promise or committment to be on the team is only that when they ask you to sign. So those who think they are getting a spot and haven't signed anything, don't get your hopes up.

WOW!! all of you guys who are bashing boles need a life.. since when is OWHA HOCKEY THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW?!?! WHY does it matter if boles has a MAN?! you guys are pathetic. i don't know her personally but have heard some pretty damn good things about her. Just because you, or your daughter was cut from her team, doesn't make boles a bad person. grow up and get a life instead of bashing other people in the forum.. maybe go to a hockey school or send your daughter to a hockey school so maybe she can makes boles' team next year. thanks.

bingo the coach calls and says "sorry you're cut" even though they had been given a verbal. This happened to a friend from the Stoney Creek Midget AA team who had played up several times. She was told (by Diane Boles) that she would most likely have a spot on the Int. AA team. But after the 1st try-out she called and said she was cut and now this player is scrambling to find a spot which isn't easy since most teams have already fielded their teams.
Never take a coaches word, ask for the papers.

Email us to confirm. You talk big and can you back it up. In fact we don't think you even got on the ice. We don't think you even play? so why the slam? Doesn't Missy support you. Now I will eat crow and profusely apologise when/if you email us specifics confirming your tryout in Missy. Any detail that we can confirm will do. Nice try but just don't think for 1 second you can get away with it!!

Careful Seymore. When you stir the pot about other teams you better be prepared to boil. There are too many of us out here in cyber space that have the goods on the Burlington JR. Barracudas' Dynasty.Isn't it true that in the past 3 years 2 team managers, 2 team trainers and an assistant coach have all quit the bench in frustration over the antics of your supreme commanders? Why don't you stick to promoting and supporting your daughter's team in good faith. You are very good at it. Let the players finish off the season without the stress of all this nonsense. They deserve a break for all this adult interference.

Actually your not even in the park. And the gutless people are the Burlington parents, some for many years that still have their children playing under the dictatorship that has been in place for that amount of time. Not a good enviroment. And Seymour, I am sure you will jump all over this but you know what, your are wrong and have been very misleading on many of your previous posts. Enough said.

Our team is now set. Some changes have been made. Strenghtened with some new additions. Hopefully we will have a very competitive team again this year. Time will tell.
An observation from the stands to all those pissing and moaning parents: It was interesting to watch your reaction last year when the coach actually shortened the bench in key games near the end of the year.
You would have thought the world had ended! "Oh woe is me...what's he doing...he's being mean..blah blah blah..."
Get over it. It's junior hockey and shortening the bench in key situations is a fact of life. All players go through this at one time or another. It may not be pleasant at the time, but in some situations you have to go with the players who are playing the best in that particular game. It's nothing personal...it's not worth throwing a tantrum over. As a matter of fact, the players handled it more maturely than the parents.
Enjoy the year - wherever you are!

Parents having no say in the direction or developement of players. So while Burlington appears to have started by making it cost free to players, the parent element is alive and well!!
16 to 21 year olds should not have to put up their money or their parents money. In fact if they do, then they wield more power than the coach or executives or managers. Some budgets are in the 2500 to 5000 range. This is not JUNIOR hockey comparable to mens leagues.
If the fans don't want to support and the excutive can't find community support then get the hell out of business. The new PWHL is off to a slow start and simply looks like a league like the last one with a new set of rules, same politics and similar problems.
If it isn't, then tell us what the difference is?
Wouldn't controlled change be better for the players!!

The game dictates shortening the bench in key situations when the players have no vested interest. Money they pay means they're an equal SHAREHOLDER just like any business. Most coaches don't pay a dime so the parallel is as in any business the shareholder can "fire" the coach at any shareholder's meeting. I don't think that's the way Junior Hockey should go.
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
I agree that at the Int AA level, players should not have to pay. And that is the case in Burlington. I also agree that parents should stay out of the operation of the team, especially on the bench. The girls have to learn to deal with different situations themselves, without mommy and daddy thowing hissy fits on their behalf.
I don't understand what you're saying about the new league though. By take is that womens' hockey needs a shake up of some sort. The way it sits now, without any sort of loyalty, or dedication to a team, it will continue to be a suitcase league where players switch at their whim or at the coaxing of a coach or team scout.
Women's Int AA hockey is so far away from being comparable to a junior boys organzation that it cannot be compared. It's unique...just like the game itself. Girls hockey and boys hockey are two entirely different animals from every perspective.
What is the solution? I don't know. There are so many areas that need attention, I wouldn't know where to start.

Apparently two Brampton Mid. girls are headed to the Clearview Mid team. Not positive but possible #7 Yeates (defence) and #66 Ironside (forward). Any conformations?

she'll make no difference to that team..except cause trouble. Her dad thinks shes a superstar, and she has the same cocky attitude about herself...too bad she can't acutally show any of that "skill" on the ice!
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
Yes, Ironside will be an IceStar for the upcoming season. She is a good player who plays with intensity and most of all heart and will only add to the team’s offensive talent. Yeates, who is a very strong defence will also be joining the team. COCKY???? last time i checked she didnt play for the aroes last year!!!!Obviously her attitude or so called "COCKYNESS" didn’t hold back the Brampton team as they brought home the gold a few weeks ago. I bet you don’t even know her, and if you think you do I’m sure its only because she stood you up at the blue line or picked your pocket on the ice.
Please tell me what parent doesn’t have great or high expectations for there children?! She isn’t a “super star” but she is a damn good hockey player who will only add to clearviews skill. Just remember girls to take it to your EX-Brampton team next year, you aren’t the defending champs anymore….i just hope the clearview girls can get past the fact that you were on the team that knocked them out in 1/4 finals.(wink) GOOD LUCK!

I do know Natasha..I've played with her before..which probably half the league can say since she switches teams every year..what's the problem...is she not getting enough attention, is daddy not happy with the coaches again because natasha isn't getting enough ice time? (that seems to happen a lot...) Think about it...why would she leave a team that just won gold in provincials...and why has she switched teams every year for the past 6 years..
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
Umm why wouldn’t she play for Clearview rather then Brampton??
IN CLEARVIEW-drive 10-15 minutes for practice
IN BRAMPTON -drive 1 1/2 hours for a practice
Think about it…could be one reason!!!!!!
Scoring disabled. You must be logged in to score posts.
hmm so what's the reasons for switching teams every year for the past 6 years? it definitly wasn't because of driving..kind of odd isn't it...how many players change teams every year 6 years in a row? players who don't fit in on the team, are not good enough, or think they can get it better somewhere else

To the set the record straight, I have played for Etobicoke Dolphins for four of the last six years with a coach who is amazing, and probably one of the best in Ontario. Last year I played with Brampton, with an equally great coach. Thanks have a nice day! :D

Its kind of funny the way you twisted everything around..maybe you have played for that team..but not in a row...i know for a fact..the past 4 years were played in brampton, aurora, etobicoke, brampton..in that order..good try trying to twist everything around..the point still stands..you swtich teams every year..and why's that? Oh and just to let you know..theres something called i.p adresses...and they can catch you in lies as well..like this post:
Apparently two Brampton Mid. girls are headed to the Clearview Mid team. Not positive but possible #7 Yeates (defence) and #66 Ironside (forward). Any conformations
Posted by your i.p. address in an above post..did you want convorsations to start about you or something..because i'm pretty sure you know where you're playing next year...and all the other messages defending you...those i.p. adresses were pretty damn close to yours..hmmm..lol.. BUSTED

As you (and for that matter, most of the other players on this forum) mature and become even more successful, you will run into a certain class of people who want to try and hurt you or denigrate your successes. Fortunately, they are few and far between. However, you do have to deal with them from time to time. My suggestion is to deal with them, for the most part, by ignoring their tirades. Sticks and stones etc.
The main thing to remember is that there is usually one significant factor that makes them different than you. In your case there is 2.
The first one, and it is relatively insignificant, is the shiny thing on the ribbon hanging around your neck. You have one, she doesn't. I know she doesn't because champions don't engage in that type of behaviour.
The second one, and by far the more important, is felt when you hold that shiny thing attached to the ribbon hanging around your neck. Do you feel the beat? The quantity and quality of the organ that is causing that beat is what really sets you (and for that matter, most of the other players on this forum) apart from those anonymous souls who would like to state otherwise.
Good luck to you and your mates this coming season. I will try and drop by from time to time.

who are you anyways, the team they both played for last year won the provincials so obviously she wasnt too much of a nuissance... Why on earth would you start rumours like that. And NO i am not her, i am from her team last year.
Both girls decided to play for clearview because of distance. 1 1/2 hours each way to practices, we'll miss both of them so much but can't blame them for the decision.

Ah! Seymore there you go again. We were all thankful for the Gag order we thought was placed on you for the past two weeks.By the way I heard Caitlin Pye was jumping for joy when she earned her place on the Missy roster. And NEWS has it that a long standing(5-6 yrs) very talented player with the Barracuda Jr. organization, was fished along by Burlington head coach throughout this year's(2004) tryout and exhibition game only to be cut post tryouts. Where is she supposed to go now??????Also heard that your illustrious trainer and his wonderfully talented daughter(captain on the 2003-04)have jumped ship to play for SC. Good for them. If I was the coach of this BBJT I would reinstate your gag order before you cause their demise. Get a life.

FACT: Pye was crying after the provincials and told her teammates that she did NOT want to go. Her dad made her. FACT: Yes, a veteran was cut at the last tryout. This happens.
FACT:Yes, Christine went to Stoney Creek.
FACT: No, her dad is still with our team as team athletic therapist, and dry land co-ordinator.
There...let's move on now shall we...

Lookie on the SC website, Christine Foster is now a Stoney Creek Saber with Diane. Look at the burlington jr webpage at the Christine Foster info and it's the same girl, she was also their captain.. her father was the team doctor, they had been in burlington for a while. Where's seymour these days?
Caitlyn Pye moved too? to Missy it says on this post. Rumour has it Lauren Barch was a no show at tryouts this year.
Nice shuffling..

Players shuffle all over the place in girls hockey. It's a sad commentary on the state of women's hockey.
There is no loyalty and poaching is rampant. In a so-called hand shake deal, Diane Boles pledged not to poach any Burlington players if they did the same...then she proceeded to harrass and harangue our players for weeks.
Looks like Christine fell for her line of BS. Good luck Christine. You're a great player. Have fun playing for "Butch".
FYI...Barchie is still here along with a number of new players from Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, etc, etc.

Hey people.. all this talk and we got nothing to look at. Only Boles keeps things rolling with her continuous updation of her webpage. Who's got some rosters for us? Missy looks like it should be an interesting team this year.. they're drawing some players from all over.
Seymour you say your rosters are set? Haha, nothing is set until October 31st when the rosters are sent in to OWHA. Anything can happen.. isn't that right? For now.. why don't you tell us who's all on your team. And who was that nice veteran that was cut, no harm in releasing her name officially.. might do her some good an help to find another team. P.S., who and where did you find to be your other goalie besides Hough for now?

I believe that each sponsor was asked for $300 so if you got three, you didn't pay any further. If you got two, you had to make up $300, and if you got one, you had to make up $600.
We had a great base of generous corporate sponsorships that made it very economically comfortable to play last year.
Hope this helps.

She was "shut out" of the goalie position that was promised to her (Junior) if it would come available.
She did not sign anything that was approved by her parents and no money was given. How can you blame her for leaving???? Aeros proved that they are the ones that make promises and then don't feel they need to keep them if it doesn't serve their purpose.
