Sweet!!!

My grandfather used to work in a drug store part-time, and I always remember seeing the Captain Universe covers when I'd visit. Ah, innocent youth.

I love that Captain Atom costume. Sweet, simple, and eye-grabbing.

(The only reference in Scott Shaw!s Oddball comic column that I could find made ANY reference to Ditko, believe it or don't!)

That's so funny, just last week I was trying to crop an avatar out of that very book! Red hair, etc. None of the poses really sang for me as avatar material though. I'd LIKE to believe Ditko would draw me this way, however:

Add a goatee Daddio, and you almost got it.

Lookee there, in panel three, from Linda's action page? See the "little guy" running alongside the woman? Her hand is behind his back (that is, closer to us) and his foot is trailing behind HER! Escher even got confused reading that panel!
Ditko (or his inker) asleep at the wheel!

Does anyone need a Mr. A comic. I got one with an eBay deal recently. I also got an extra copy of Heroe's Inc. #2, which has a Ditko story & cover, and that Ka-Davar stuff by JB, which I posted over in my Gallery.

I just wanted to note that I loved that Ditko Starman series as a kid! It was wonderfully cosmic and quirky.

There's ANOTHER series I'd like to see collected! I suppose there aren't enough people who care about it, though.
