Hi Patrick. I did end up replacing the vb. I had installed a B&M shift kit and Silverfox said it was a problematic kit (junk). I did install the Transgo shift kit. Then I went and blew a torrington bearing and scrapped the whole set up. I picked up a 90's tranny and rebuilt that. But that's my tough luck. You need a new vb. Forget the gov, thats not the problem. Broader Performance has vb's on Ebay. Hopefully he'll ship overseas. And do check your pressure caaaaarrrefully. It does have to be right on. Do you have any clue as to the origin of your trans? Early, mid, or late. If you have cast numbers there are people on this site who can identify the appr. years so you don't end up with something you won't be able to use.
