About a pint of fluid came out of one line and so I blew air into the other one to make sure it was not clogged. I could hear some hissing at the back of the transmission (vent?) so I belive that line is also unrestricted. I recently added AC to the car, and the cooler ended up between the condenser and the radiator. Most of the time I have the AC off, including that day the car broke down, so I am not sure if overheating caused this. I know the restriction will make the cooler less efficient, but it is a large cooler that had never given me any problems, and the car used to run way hotter back when I first bought it and I never had any problems either. I believe something internally caused it to overheat and kill the fluid. That same "something" is not letting me drive forward, and that same "something" is intermittent. I forgot to mention this, but during the test the problem AGAIN went away for a few minutes after the car was warm and I reved the engine with the brakes on and in Drive.
Nonetheless, to be on the safe side I removed the cooler and placed it in the front. Any more ideas are more than welcome.
