C-6 problems continued

Just got back from Connecticut so I hadn't done anything else to the trans. Today I removed the manual valve body. The wedges for the servo and adjustment screw were both in place and the band looks to be in good shape. I air checked the servo and it does apply and releases the band. I also checked the clutch packs and I do get a thump when air is applied. So I assume that internally the trans is ok as it should be since I really haven't done anything to hurt it since it last worked. I took the tans brake valve body appart as per Frank Merkl's instruction and noticeced that the two cavaties for the checkballs were indeed too wide and too long. I filled them with JB weld epoxy and just as it started setting up I installed the seperator plate with a few bolts and marked the holes in the spacer plate to the epoxy. The holes in the spacer plate are also smaller than the 7/32 and 5/32 that Franks states they should be so tomorrow I'll drill those out. I'll also drill the correct size holes into the epoxy at the ball seats and router the channel from seat to seat. I'll re-install the modified trans brake valve body and see if this will correct the problem. Which problem? The only problem I had with the trans brake was that it hesitated to go into 3rd. The mods that I'm in the process of doing should solve that problem as per Frank. We'll see!
