I recently aquired a 1976 Mercury Capri with an internal water leak (head, gasket?) It runs great but it really doesn't put out much torque.
I want to convert to a 347 with an auto tranny. I'm hopeing to get at least 400 HP out of it.
The advise I'm looking for is....what tranny to use?
The car weighs 2920 with me in it(+ or - a few pounds with more fuel).
It has a C3 tranny now.
It will be mostly street with a few passes at the strip.
Any more info or ? required I will be on line for a couple hours and will check back from time to time, OK?
