It is a fill tube hole shipping plug. The plug is installed in the trans fill plug hole at the factory before the trans goes to new car production. During car production the fill tube is installed which pushes the shipping plug through the hole and it is left laying in the pan for you to find. Just discard it or use it as a dradle. It serves no function
