Has any one modified a 1970 nbr 3 thrust washer to work on an earlier model c-4 They are similiar in shape. I can't find the original style as they are no longer being mfd. Any other suggestions would be appreciated . This thrust washer goes between the back of the fwd drum in between the drum and the plantery gears. Transmission shops will not tell me what they do and just want to have me drag the whole thing in and they will rebuild it. If i can't get the washer where do they get it? One big secret. The part nbr is 26232 old 1970 26232A which is available from Matco Automatic Transmission Parts or Transtar Industries. Washer is approx 2 in od ctr hole 1 in 3 tabs around the outer edge 4 punched rectangular holes between the inner hole and the outside dia.
