There are many aftermarket stand alone controlers for the AODE/4R Optishift, compushift, tci to name a few. Or a full manual valve body is an option that requre NO electronics, but you have to shift every gear.
Your gonna spend $600 on the computer, $500-$700 on the MVB.
The swap is great if you really drive the vehical, as I have swapped AOD to the AODE/4R with these controlers and MVB many times.
The AODE/4R is 1" longer than the AOD, and it has the same exact output shaft length/spline for the 4x4, so the TCase will bolt up just fine. It should be noted as well that the 2wd has the same exact length/spline as the AOD as well, just the tail bushing is different size.
Also, to swap any tailshaft, it require complete dissasembly.
