  • Cruisomatic to C6 Swap

OK - so I a midway through the rebuild of my C6 and getting ready to swap it in to the Custom (Galaxie look-alike for those not familiar) and I guess I had better line up the rest of the answers before I start yanking things. I have searched a few places for step-by-step instructions on this but have either been query impaired or such a page does not exist (I'll try to put something together for future generations). So first - if someone is aware of a "how to swap a C6 in when a cruisomatic was there before" type resource I would really appreciate it.

So - I know that I will need to either find or fab a replacement crossmember. I also expect to remove the column shifter and put a floor unit in so the stock linkage questions do not apply. The two significant questions that remain are:

      1) Flexplate - do the C6 and Cruisomatic use the same unit or will I need to replace the old cruiso unit.
      2) Driveshaft/Yolk - I expect that I will have to go have the driveshaft shortened to acomidate the C6 - but can I use the old yolk?
      3) Kickdown linkage - I have the linkage that came with the C6 and am hopeful that the firewall config will allow me to use this - but if not - any suggestions on how to proceed here?

      Thanks in advance

      Nathan
