Ok guys/gals here's my problem. I have an AOD and 302 out of a 93 T-Bird LX in my 84 GT Mustang. To attempt to make a long story short I was driving it one day to my Police Academy and it lost 3-4. I let the Stang sit for 6 months or so until I got time to rebuild the AOD. Well I rebuild it with the help of an AOD rebuild guide from a reputable company, put it back into the Stang, and still no 3-4 and I had a knock in the tranny at mid rpm. Well I noticed the shaft input on the direct drom was broken before I reassembled the tranny, thought it was supposed to be that way, found out it wasn't. I bought a repalcement direct drum off ebay, same as the old one, and tore the tranny down again and replaced the direct drum figuring that was the 3-4 and knock problem. Well I got it back together 4 days ago, cranked the car, and now I have a knock in the tranny sounds like a rod in the bottom of the engine but it is coming from the tranny and it's at idle now. Now, the drum is the exact same drum I took out and I did everything the same as before, but now I have the knock at idle. Any ideas as to what the heck I have done here, lol? Swear guys/gals, I need to get a t-5 this AOD is a PITA!
