I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with 100,000 miles auto and non 4x4. There are no prob right now and never had tran fluid change. I have read that if I would to just change the fluid by drop the pan out and change the filter, there are possibility that the new fluid might cause the transmission to become slippage because the new fluid have some type of detergent in it.

what do you think of putting some type of additive (bg atc plus) in the transmission which might prolong the its life?

      Thank you
      any thought is thankful
