Just bought a fmx to rebuild and put in my mustang, and the kickdown lever is missing. It has no shaft through the gear lever or nothing that I can see connected on the inside. I'm not sure what the lever will look like (shape) or how to install. This is for a 1970 mach1. Numbers on the side of tranny are C9ZP 7006 A . Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, please look. Are these hard to install? I understand the lever is made to a shaft, and slides through the gear lever. What about the inside, i'm not sure where or what to connect? Don't get me wrong, if I take it apart I can pretty well put it back together. It's just that this is not there to look at(missing).

Thanks for the pic Stuart. My shift lever has a lock rod hole and a gear linkage hole. Would the kickdown lever look the same as a fmx with only the gear linkage hole? I'm just trying to get the right one so it will work correctly.I understand that the lock rod started in 70 models?
