hello, im building a c6 for a 72 mustang and would like to make it pretty stout, the servo letter i have is a P so what stock servo is better to use other than the R servo? i know the R is the best but the cost alot of money..
also the forward drum only has 4 disc in it and the direct has 3 this is a big block transmission is that write? will they hold up to a stock built 351m? also what color modulator is best to use its a push in?
i have built lots of c4's and added clutches to the drums in them can you add to the c6 drums by taken out the cushin spring? better yet do you know of a website that has mods for a c6? o-ya is a 1978 modle c6

Well the tranny will out live the motor , give it a stock rebuild ,new seals and steels and fibres and put 13 pennys in the vb to replace the 2nd gear acumultor spring ( the only hole under the banana plate on the side that a penney will fit in )

Penny's in accumulator

This is a great idea. I usually machine up an aluminium plug. They go in the accumulator valve which disables the accumulator circuit to firm up the shifts.

I use to do the same 15- 20 mins to machine an aluminum plug + materials , 13 penny's are a lot cheaper and cost effective!!

c6pennys

frank,
i installed a shift kit in the valve body already that had me change out the springs for that valve...
the guy that owns this transmission did'nt want a hard shifting tranz, but also did'nt want a soft one to so i just bought this normal duty kit maybe that will help clear up soft 1-2 and 2-3 spin up...
thanks alot for the info

Most shift kits modify that valve anyway with different tension springs or blocker springs
