C6 problem!

Hey!

I have a Coan built C6 in my SS car... It has the full manual valvebody
with transbrake. My problem is that when shiftin' from second into third gear I get a split second of "neutral" wich results in my engine over-reving!! I've adjusted and double checked the shifter many times and it's in perfect order. It also shifts perfect from 1st to 2nd gear and all three gears grab on really good, exept the little problem I mentioned before. What could be the problem or am I facing a total rebuild??

Thanx

//Mathias

The 2 - 3 shift uses 2 components.

Intermediate band and direct clutch.

If either are worn it can cause this.

Adjust the intermediate band.
Loosen the lock nut, hold the adjuster screw and back the lock nut off a few turns.
Tighten the adjuster to 10' pounds.
Back it off one full turn.
Hold the adjuster screw and tighten the lock nut.

If it still slips the direct clutch could be worn.

you can go as tight as 3/4 of a turn backed off if needed to get ridof the flare

Can it be seals?

I would think that in addition to those possibilities the servo seal could be leaking causing the flare as well as the direct piston seal.
