C6 for truck pulling, questions!

I am looking to use a C6 automatic in a pulling truck and will only use first gear. Is there a way to remove some of the enternals for second and third gears so as to lighten the rotating assembly and lower parasitic drag by doing this? It would be used in a four wheel drive. I plan to turn the motor 85-9500 or even more, with over a 1000 horse and 485".

Thanks!

About the only items are the intermediate band and governor.

But they don't weigh much more that a pound, if that.

Well, you Are you going to use ANY other gears at all, then no.
But You could put 2 or 3 clutches ONLY in the direct drum with a very loose tolerance, run the Int (2nd gear) band 3.25 turns out (no more), POLISH the drums/shell to shinny mirror smooth, run a Manual VB and cut the governor bore completely out of the equation (you still need a corner of it to hold the park assembly)
