I have overhauled a c6 before and I have a decent amount of tools. Also not opposed to "modifying" a tool for a special purpose. I am thinking of buying a good 4r core for my hotrod and tackling it myself. I'm going with a manual valve body later so i won't need to go through that. Is this something I can do myself and make it live behind a moderate (400 hp) 351w?
Oh yeah, if I did this, any 4r from 98+ from either a 3.8, 4.2 or 5.0 is what I want correct?
C6 is easy-peasy compared to the AOD/4R70W. You're going to need more tools and more patience.
Get a good manual. Be sure to check everything during assembly. Will need the seal installer tool set as well. I have a fixture to assemble it vertically.
