rebuilt c4 in 49 ford 302 v8 walker radiator and tranny cooler built in. i drive it in hot weather for and hour and stop and fluid comes out of over flow tube. will not shift good until i put more fluid so i know it's not over filled. is it over heating from not enough cooler, should i put another, seems like radiator cooler should be enough
I'm wondering if in fact that rad may have an obstruction in it? Did you remove the lines from the rad and see if the rad cooler was clear? Also remove them from the trans and force air into the lines and put the return line down in a bucket and see if anything comes out.
