I have a ford nine inch rear i pulled out from a 73 mach 1 to go into mine and i want to freshen it up before i do, decoding the tag i noticed that it stated mine was a 2-pinion rear, my question is what is a 2-pininon rear? thanks for any help guys it is much appreciated

Your carrier has two spider gears. Some carriers are setup with four spider gears which gives more contact area to the side gears often found it trucks and big block cars. There's a chance that your rear has been into before therefore you may find something different from the original.

Thanks for the reply, I now realize what a dumb question i asked, been a long time since i have worked on a rear end , going to pull out the open 2.75 and put in a locker and 3.25's just wanted to be sure
