I'll be paddling some sections of the Boone this weekend - proabably throw a line out too. Probably south of Briggs. Also camping at Briggs or Bells. Let me know if any of you are interested.
FYI - The Boone is really low right now and there will be places where you have to drag. I've been doing a lot of spots upstream of W.C. lately and there has been a small handful of times where I had to get out of the yak.
Sounds like fun, buy we'll be camping at Backbone State Park this weekend. Was on the Boone in late July from Brigg's Woods to Tunnel Mill. If you haven't paddled it yet, it's a nice little river with fairly swift current, and quite a few rock / riffle areas. Make sure you plan plenty of time though, with water levels this low.
it is a little low. I live in webster city and have to measure the depth and velocity of the boone every day - also been on it too many times to count this year.
Have fun at backbone - it's one of my favorite parks.
