Hi!!
Just wanted to let everyone know my husband and I had a terrible
expereince on the Turkey River between Elgin and Elkader yesterday,
Sep 6, 2004. First, NEVER do business with Turkey River Canoe
Rental also known as Gene's Place. Second, the Turkey river from
Elgin put in to Bridge 10 is danagerous. WE NEVER TIPP OVER AND
ARE above average canoers but WE ALMOST TIPPED OVER 10 TENS FROM
ELGIN TO BRIDGE 10 AND HAD A BAD ACCIDENT AND TIPPED OVER ONCE AND
LUCKLY WE ARE OKAY BUT MY HUSBAND LOST A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES.
WE HAVE A FEW BRUISES AND SOME SORE MUSCLES BUT WE WILL BE OKAY.
THE SAD PART IS THE OUFITTER, TURKEY RIVER CANOE RENTAL ALSO
GENE'S PLACE DID NOT INFORM US OF THE RISK AND IF THEY DID WE
WOULD HAVE CANOED ANOTHER RIVER AND WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO
REPLACE MY HUSBANDS GLASSES. ALSO,ANOTHER SPOT FROM FLOOD DEBRIS AND FAST WATER WAS ALSO BAD ON THE TURKEY AND CAN NOT BE RUN AND YOU NEED TO GET OUT AND CARRY YOUR CANOE A WAYS ON THE ROCKS.
We hope we can help someone that is planning a future trip.
But, are main worry is below to average canoeist that can get
seriously hurt or die. DO NOT WORRY, WE WILL BE OUT ON THE RIVER
NEXT YEAR.

This looks like the report of an obviously disturbed
and vengeful person. It looks like you are just trying
to flame the people who rented you some canoes. They
aren't your parents, you should use your own judgement
when paddling, unless your judgement skills are lacking.
I'm guessing you are bitching here because they wouldn't
refund your money after you threw a temper tantrum.
I feel pity for your husband, who probably has TO LISTEN
TO YOU SCREAMING ALL DAY USING CAPS LOCK AND UNABBLLE TO
SPEEL WERDS CORECTLY!!!!
