Just a reminder for the show and cruise, also check out the new canoe and kayak accesses that the DNR has installed.
Bring boats to the beach, also bring a lunch, we'll have cider for everyone!
See you there!! Jim
Brushy Creek was perfect yesterday! Everyone had a great time! The highlite of the day was while we were at the beach, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fletcher paddled by in a restored Thompson Brothers wood canvas canoe, that Bill had restored! Bill was the original owner, and this was the second restoration! What made it neat was they paddled up in the classic courting style! That's when the man paddles from the stern, and the lady is seated in the bottom of the canoe, facing the stern paddler. Definitely Classic!! Thanks to the Fletchers!
I'd like to point out a couple of things. We had special permission to use the beach at Brushy, and it was for that day only!
Also the Park staff has installed two canoe and kayak launch sites that everyone can use. One is located at the South East boat ramp, and the other at the North West access by the walk bridge. Check them out when you get a chance and thank the park personnel!
We had six canoes and two kayaks, all stip built, and The Fletchers wood canvas canoe. The boats were stunning on the water as well as on the beach!
Hope to see you again next Fall! Jim
