I just noticed that there is now a gauge on the Yellow River - Don't remember ever seeing this before. I haven't made it down this river paddling yet, but thought this info. might be handy for those that do. I'd like to give it a try some time next spring / summer, as it sounds like a pretty fun & swift run.

NO MORE GUESSING!

Great! I'm so glad to see the Yellow River now has a gauge.
We'll have to keep an eye on it for levels; to see what's floatable. I'll have to get with the Outfitter in Volney; to see what he has to say about this gauge.
I ran the Yellow: twice June 5-6 & loved it. If I remember, from Volney to Ion was 14 miles.
I'll run it again & I recommend camping @ the Waukon City Park; for those who are travelling from afar.
So, what rivers do you normally float? I'm a NE iowa River paddler; mostly.
