Just as I thought, we started the year off with a bang. January has historically been our smallest shows but, not this time. Even with not so perfect weather this was one of the best shows I can remember us having. To see so many new people getting involved with these shows makes me optimistic about this breeds future. I want to first thank our judges Mr. Mike Norrod of Ironline Kennels, Chris Kelley of BBC and as always Shaunte Smith of Guarded Gate Kennels! Thanks to Sharon, Jarett, Jeremy and Nicole for handling the shows. Thanks to all the folks who helped with the working events (cant recall all the names) and of course thanks to everyone else I am not mentioning especially the die hard supporters who keep this club growing. I should also mention we had a record number of 1st timers. That really says a lot about this club. Were well into our 3rd year and still growing at an incredible pace. Anyone who has been to our shows will tell you the VSBA is without a doubt one of the best clubs to be a part of. We will continue offering different things to get more people involved. For February we will be offering 50% off to all the newcomers!! We will also continue our $7 dog IDs for one more month. All of you who were there have seen the extremely nice awards we give out for things like Working Dog and Show Dog of The Year. We want as many of you as possible to be in the running for these things so get your dog ID today and start getting your points! All points other than champion points have been reset so everyone is still in the running to win this for 2009!! For those of you who havent seen how nice these awards are we will get some pictures up showing them off in the next few days.
Our next show is Feb. 7th. We will continue our Bully show so I have no doubt the turnout will be great once again. I will announce the judges within the next couple of days.
Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that we hold an auction every show. This is a crucial part of keeping the shows going, continuing to give lots of very nice awards, keeping up the show site and making upgrades the list goes on and on. I want to thank all of you who either bring or bid on items every month and remind everyone else to please donate to the auction. Remember, it does not have to be a dog related item. Anything at all will do and every little bit helps!
With all that said the website has been updated with show winners, pictures, point standings etc.. Go check it out and start getting dogs ready for the February 7th show it will be another great one!!
