The VSBA is proud to announce that the February show was without question a huge success!! Thank you so much to all of our members and supporters!! The weather was great which helped us easily pass the 100 dog mark. I want to 1st thank Mr. Jon Downing of Downing Kennels who traveled a great distance to judge our Bully Show. I have had more positive feedback about his judging than any judge we have ever had. I can honestly say there was not 1 complaint voiced to me. I know there is alot of shows left this year but this has placed him as the front-runner for Judge of the Year. I also want to thank him for his service to this great country and want him to know he will be in our thoughts and prayers during his next trip into harms way! Also, a huge thank you to Sherri Self who made the long trip from GA to handle the judging of our regular show and Shaunte Ball for once again handling the task of judging our weight pull both beginner and advanced! I would also like to congratulate Shaunte as she was married in January to a long time friend and member of the VSBA Rick Ball. You guys will also be in our thoughts and prayers! Thanks to Nicole, Sharon and Gerald for handling the rings and to the multiple men who took care of the weight pull track! I also want to thank Cristy who does so much behind the scenes to help this club. None of this would be possible without all of you! I hope you all know how much you are appreciated!
I am also pleased to announce that we have put together another great VSBA mens softball team for the spring 2009 season. Last fall we finished 2nd in the regular season and 3rd in the tournament with our 1st team. We have upgraded at a few positions and have high hopes to win the whole thing this year. We will be playing on Thursday nights in Smyrna I encourage anyone who can to attend and show some support to the only APBT club I have ever heard of to have its own softball team!
I also would like to remind everyone that it very important to bring something for and also participate in the auction. It plays a crucial role in keeping the prices down and the quality of the awards up. We give out more trophies and ribbons than any other club probably in the history of dog shows and want to keep this up as well as add more as they come up. So please remember items do not have to be dog related absolutely anything will do and everything helps. Thanks to all of you who have been so consistent and to those of you who always make an effort to participate in the auction.
Now it is time to prepare for our next show coming up on March 7th! We expect this one to be just as great as the last one. If for some crazy reason you are reading this and have yet to attend a VSBA show stop putting it off and get your dogs ready. I will announce the judges in the next few days!
