Always make sure your OS is updated. Usually Microsoft releases security patches for your OS. Hackers is on the watch for this vulnerabilities, meaning if Microsoft release a security patch, all they have to do is reverse engineering and will scan for PC's that do not comply with the security patch. also take note if you are using MS product which are no longer supported by MS, by June 2004 all Windows NT platfrom will no longer be supported by MS meaning no more patches will be releases even there's a security vulnerability, you are on your own from there on. The reason for this is MS was pushing for Windows 2003 server and Windows XP and a lot of recent application is now dependent on Active Directrory native of this products.
Also on top of this as second layer of defense againts hackers, always make sure you AV (anti Virus) is ALWAYS updated including it's scan engine updates.
..and there is also firewalls, proxies for additional filtering.

Medyo hindi lang kaaya-aya kapag naka-disable ang mga yan, pero defenetly mas lalong safe kayo. Ayon sa resulta ng aking pagsusuri, ang madalas gamitin ni Tumador para mag-trojan ay Active-X, kaya tiyakin ninyong naka-disable lahat yan.
Mahalaga na ang ating IP address ay maikubli, kaya makabubuting gumamit tayo ng proxy palagi. Nabanggit ni Tumador minsan ang ukol sa panghihinayang nya bandwidth, kaya natitiyak kong lagi itong nag-e-scan para maalaman kung sino-sino na ang kanyang nabiktima. Kapag open ang port na na ni-specify nya sa trojan, madali na syang makakapasok.
Tiyakin na updated lagi ang inyong mga antivirus at firewall. Wag magbububukas ng alinmang attachments buhat sa kaninoman na hindi ninyo kilala. Kahit kilala ninyo ang nagpadala, laging isipin na maaaring impostor lamang ang nagpadala kaya tiyakin muna bago buksan ang alinmang attachments.
Lahat ng yan ay pag-iingat para hindi maback-dooran remotely ang ating computer. Kapag tayo ay nabackdooran, kahit pa tayo ay naka-firewall ay wala ding silbi, makakapasok at makakapasok ang kalaban kahit anong oras na gusto nya.

My browser recently become "unresponsive", I can't even open a single thread here in this forum and some other sites. And as I red the new updates from microsoft, an attacker can cause your browser to be unresponsive and you will need to install patch for direct-x.

For the record lang mga Kapatid. Nagpasya na ako ukol sa ganap na pagsunod sa doctrina ng Iglesia ukol sa pagbabagong buhay. Dahil dito, may nanabotahe sa akin sa PLDT. Nawalan ako ng DSL 1 week. Akala ko modem ko ang may deperensya, sa main office pala tinira. Last month, halos 2 weeks nawala ang linya ng telepono ko, pati DSL wala din. Kilala ko ang tao na may kagagawan... Hindi naman ADD, pero kasamahan ko dati sa pagtataguyod ng ilang mga underground project ni soriano.

AT&T on Tuesday said hackers broke into one of its computer systems and accessed personal data on thousands of customers who used its online store.
The information that was illegally accessed includes credit card numbers, AT&T said in a statement. The cyberattack affects about 19,000 customers who purchased equipment for high-speed DSL Internet connections through AT&T's Web site, the company said.
"We deeply regret this incident," Priscilla Hill-Ardoin, chief privacy officer for AT&T, said in the statement. "We will work closely with law enforcement to bring these data thieves to account."
The break-in occurred over the weekend and was discovered within hours, after which the online store was shut down, AT&T said. The telecommunications company quickly notified credit card companies and is in the process of contacting the affected customers via e-mail, phone and letter, it said.
The incident is the latest in a long string of data security breaches. Since early last year, more than 90 million personal records have been exposed in dozens of incidents, according to information compiled by the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse.
AT&T is offering to pay for credit monitoring services for customers whose accounts have been impacted because they could be at risk of identity fraud. The company also has made available a toll-free number to affected customers to call for more information.
