November 20, 2006 (Apalit, Pampanga) – When Bro. Eli Soriano went on to start his Thanksgiving discourse last Saturday (November 18), he announced that the long-running and controversial program produced by the Church was honored the prestigious "Most Informative Religious Program Award" by an independent international award-giving body.
Bro. Eli, evident in his voice and face, looks like he is one of the happiest persons and his joy seem to beam during that very moment that if God work, who will turn it away (Isaiah 43:13). Similarly, the attendees of the Thanksgiving that Saturday afternoon erupted with shouts of happiness and clapping of hands. Some eyes misted with tears of joy. That moment was priceless and the same excitement and exuberance surely beamed around the world in the Church of God's other regional chapters who are hooked via web streaming and satellite.
It was Gawad Amerika after all, an independent award-giving body based in the USA that recognizes the achievements of Fil-Am people in the field of acting, singing, professional careers and businesses since 2001, that bestowed the award to Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path).
Up to 426 new members were baptized on Friday (Nov. 17), which was a sure enough reason for the whole congregation to rejoice, celebrate and thank God. Majority of new brethren were either avid viewers or visitors of the Ang Dating Daan program and Bible Expositions held in different places worldwide via satellite and web streaming.
Because quite several times now in the Philippines, the program has been earning the ire of the censors board, believed to be influenced by some powerful groups who have hands in the government, to pester and ban the program for being truthful, assertive and authoritative in discussing religious topics and controversies grappling the modern world.
One US-based newspaper, Philippine Times in its November 16-22 edition, made mention of the honor awarded to Ang Dating Daan and noted:
"Bro. Eli Soriano is the program's host and he readily answers all doctrinal questions from A-Z, on the spot ... He explains everything and elaborates all the details so the viewers would easily understand every word in the Bible."
Bro. Daniel Razon accepted the award during the Gawad Amerika ceremonies at the Celebrity Centre in Hollywood in the United States last November 18.
Since 2002, the Ang Dating Daan (www.angdatingdaan.org) online presence has been a consistent frontrunner in the Philippine Web Awards with three (3) Most Popular Website Awards already tucked in its pocket. CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Several unlicensed guns and undetermined pieces of ammunition were seized by combined police operatives of the Quezon City Police District and Apalit police during a raid at the temple of Eli Soriano’s "Ang Dating Daan" in Barangay Sampaloc, Apalit, Pampanga Monday evening.
In his report to Senior Superintendent Leonardo Espina, Pampanga provincial police director, Chief Inspector Mar Dayag, Apalit police chief, said the seized items include a bodyguard model caliber 30 shotgun, two pieces of caliber .38 revolvers and caliber .30 and M1 winchester rifle from the room of a certain Abner Martizano, reportedly an ADD minister and staying in one of the rooms located inside the compound.
Espina said the raiding team led by Quezon City Warrant and Subpoena Section personnel and members of the local police and Special Weapons and Tactics team, went to the temple to serve the warrant of arrest issued by the Midsayap, North Cotabato Regional Trial Court against Martizano for an alleged rape case.
But the raiding team failed to find Martizano and instead took with them several firearms and ammunition found inside his room.
Retired police Col. Domingo de Guzman, chief security officer of the ADD, assailed the raiding team for an "overkill" in its show of force and violation of the proper procedure in serving an arrest warrant.
He said the actuation made by the raiding team was a gross violation of human rights.
"We were deprived of our rights by the policemen who were all dressed in full-battle-gear. Our temple is not a haven of criminals, why should these policemen act like they’re going to war," De Guzman stressed.
He said the firearms seized by the police were service firearms of the security guards detailed at the main gate and the Larlin gate. The raiding team also took the audio recorder of the security cameras before they left on board L300 vans.
De Guzman reported the incident and had it on record at the office of the 3rd Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (3CIDU).
He said the ADD is planning to file criminal charges in court against the raiding team.

A BREAKAWAY group of the religious group Ang Dating Daan of Bro. Eliseo “Eli” Soriano on Friday asked the Bureau of Internal Revenue to investigate the evangelist for an alleged tax evasion.
Albert Miranda of the Mga Tining sa Ilang (MTI) of the “Iglesia ng Dios Kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Saligan ng Katotohanan,” said Soriano might have even pocketed the assets and properties of their religious group.
“These properties, like a beach resort and parcels of land, are under his name,” he told reporters in a press conference. “It’s against the by-laws of our group and the property are missing.”
The members of the MTI also questioned Soriano’s decision to change the name of their religious institution from the “Iglesia ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus” to “Bayan ng Katotohanan” in 1993.
Then it became the “Iglesia ng YHWH at ni YHWSA” and now the “Members Church of God International,” which runs the program “Ang Dating Daan.”
“In 1993 we had P65-million worth of assets and property and it became P6.8 million when the name Bayan ng Katotohanan was used in December 1993. Now, the church has zero capital” Miranda said.
Soriano’s properties and businesses, on the other hand, amounted to P1.5 billion but he allegedly failed to pay proper taxes because he uses his religious group to evade tax payment, he added.

Thus did 14-year-old Mariz (victim's real name withheld) begin her startling revelation, which spoiled her mother's viewing of the Final Eviction Night of ABS-CBN 2's popular reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother at their house in a Pasay City subdivision Saturday.
The autistic Mariz said she was repeatedly molested and raped by a 57-year-old neighbor who has been a real-life "big brother" raising several nieces and nephews.
Mariz's mom Maria Tendenillo, 44, did not lose time to seek police assistance, leading to the arrest of the suspect, Josefino Patingo, alias "Kuya Pating," of Block 13, Lot 6, Comet St., Don Carlos Village, Pasay City.
Detective PO3 Rodolfo Soquina described Patingo as a Bible-wielding "false prophet clad in sheep's skin but truly a revenous wolf inside," who allegedly abused Mariz "countless times."
During intensive questioning, Patingo at first claimed to be a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo, but would later admit on the record that he has been with the Dating Daan sect for three years now.
"Ayaw ko kasing madamay ang Dating Daan," said Patingo. He denied the charges but refused to comment any further on the accusations of child abuse -- including rape -- on the advice of his lawyer.
On Friday, around 9 p.m., Mariz averred she was enticed by Patingo to play "bahay-bahayan, Pinoy Big Brother style" with him, along with his eight-year-old niece and 13-year-old nephew.
"Pinaligo po ako sa itaas ng bahay ni Kuya Pating, tapos pinahiga ako sa papag, tapos dinaganan ako," Mariz said.
She went on to claim: "Sabi ko, ayoko, Kuya, masakit... Sabi niya, talagang ganyan sa Pinoy Big Brother... Pagod na pagod po ako, pero ayaw tumigil ni Kuya Pating."
Patingo, a former garments factory worker in Carmona, Cavite, told People's Tonight he had helped raise his nieces and nephews until he was laid off from work.
He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 8353 -- otherwise known as the Anti-Rape Law -- and RA 7610 or Anti-Child Abuse Law.
Patingo is now detained at the Pasay City police headquarters.
Two Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) ministers accused Ang Dating Daan of Bro. Eli Soriano of being a cult as the religious movement filed another libel suit against Soriano before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday.
Ramil Parba and Maximo Bularan, hosts of the TV program Ang Tamang Daan, said Soriano’s group has accused him and other INC leaders of being the author of a comic booklet depicting Soriano as a homosexual.
Cults are commonly perceived to be extreme religious organizations practicing unaccepted rituals that go against normal Catholic Church activities.
“We are executing this complaint-affidavit to charge the above-named leader and ministers in charge of the religious cult, Ang Dating Daan, of libel,” the two said. The two said Soriano and his aides pointed to INC ministers as the authors of the booklet featuring the life of Soriano, who was depicted as a man living an immoral life as a homosexual.
Parba and Bularan said Soriano and his followers accused the INC of being behind the publication and distribution of the lewd material during their program aired over SBN Channel 21.
Soriano’s group, they said, maliciously accused INC as the author of the book. Soriano’s ministers, they further stressed, tagged INC leaders as “killers” who should be the primary suspects if they were killed. “Tandaan nyo ’yan, ang sinasabi ko na puwedeng pumatay sa akin ’yung Iglesia ng mga mamamatay tao,” Rolan Ocampo, one of Soriano’s men, allegedly said.
ELISEO SORIANO, the Bayan ng Katotohanan (BNK) presiding minister is facing another libel case before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
Soriano allegedly described in his television program Ang Dating Daan last year four ministers of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) as “stupid.”
Assistant City Prosecutor Gibson Araula Jr. found probable cause that Soriano might be guilty of the charges filed by INC ministers Michael Sandoval, Leopoldo Guevarra, Maximo Bularan and Ramil Parba, the hosts and panelists of Ang Tamang Daan.
The complaint stemmed from Soriano’s statements in his Ang Dating Daan program aired over the Southern Broadcasting Net-work 21 on August 15, 2003, in which he also allegedly accused the complainants of being the authors of lewd komiks showing the life of the BNK leader. Sandoval, Guevarra, Bularan and Parba also claimed that Soriano called them gago and tarantado as well as accused them of being “killers.”
Soriano denied the complainants’ allegations that he named them authors of the obscene komiks in his television program. But Araula, in his three-page resolution, found Soriano’s statements malicious and libelous not only against the complainants but also against the INC. Araula recommended a P10,000 bail for the temporary liberty of Soriano, who is now facing three counts of libel charges before the Quezon City RTC.
Assistant City Prosecutor Juan Rodolfo earlier recommended the filing of two counts of libel charges against Soriano for also allegedly maligning the BNK’s rival religious group and its leaders in the program Ang Dating Daan on April 25, 2003.
THE Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has recommended the filing of two counts of libel against Eliseo Soriano, presiding minister of Bayan ng Katotohanan (BNK), for allegedly calling the leader of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) “a murderer, terrorist and thief.”
In his four-page joint resolution, Assistant City Prosecutor Juan Rodulfo found probable cause that Soriano, also a senatorial candidate, might be guilty of the charges filed by the INC.
The INC cried foul when Soriano, in his television program Ang Dating Daan, aired on Southern Broadcasting Network (SBN)-21 on April 25, 2003, made “unsavory remarks” against INC officials and members. Soriano denied INC’s accusations, asserting that “as a servant of God, he has ‘absolute freedom’ of speech and from censorship.”
He was still indicted because the INC was able to present video and audio footages showing Soriano bad mouthing INC officials.
Soriano countered with libel charges of his own against Eraño Manalo, the INC executive minister, and Brothers Michael Sandoval and Leopoldo Guevarra, Ang Tamang Daan hosts. However, these were dismissed for insufficiency of evidence. Rodulfo said Soriano failed to produce video evidence of the libel.

Arrest warrant out vs Dating Daan's Eli Soriano
A Pampanga court on Tuesday issued a warrant of arrest against Ang Dating Daan spiritual leader Brother Eliseo Soriano for allegedly raping a male member of the sect, DZMM reported.
Macabebe Regional Trial Court Judge Manuel Siayngco ordered the chief of police of Apalit town and the National Bureau of Investigation in Pampanga to immediately serve the arrest warrant against Soriano.
The arrest order came after the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed the rape case against the religious sect leader at the Macabebe court last Wednesday.
The case was based on a complaint filed by Daniel Pedriano, a former aide of Soriano.
Pedriano claimed that Soriano sexually abused him on May 17, 2000 and June 8, 2001 inside the religious group's convention center in Apalit town. Soriano's group has its headquarters in Apalit.
The case was first received by Pampanga assistant prosecutor Emmy Umpa, who recommended the filing of charges at the DOJ.

FOR "EXCELLENCE in design," the house of worship of the Locale of Forest Hills
in Queens, New York garnered top honors in the Queens Chamber of Commerce 2004 Building Awards held last month.
With its unique architectural design distinctive of modern Iglesia Ni Cristo houses of worship, the three-level house of worship with fiberglass walls and spires emerged as the first- prize winner in the New Religious Construction category. More than 200 people including New York government officials witnessed the awarding ceremony, which took place at the "Terrace on the Park" banquet hall in Flushing, Queens.
Brother Richard Rodas, supervising minister of the US Main Office, accepted the bronze plaque on behalf of the Locale of Forest Hills. The other brethren who attended the Occasion included Brother Ranniel Serreno, District Minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Northeastern Seaboard, and Brother Al Cassanova, resident minister of Forest Hills Locale. In an interview, Brother Rodas noted that the awards speaks well of the dedication of the Church of Christ in building houses of worship for constant praise and worship of God.
Forest Hills Locale officers and members noted the their beautifully designed house of worship has been drawing the attention of many New Yorkers since its completion in June 2003. They recalled that even when the
House of Worship was still under construction, many had expressed their wonder on what it would look like and whether it would meet the cpuntry's high standards.
Indeed, the Forest Hills house of worship exceeded many people's expectation, for no less than the Queens chamber of Commerce in New York City has lauded the building for its exquisite architecture.
The Queens Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing outstanding construction throughout the borough since 1926. This year, a record number of 140 entries, were submitted.
As one of the 22 building award winners of 2004, the Iglesia Ni Cristo house of worship in Forest Hills now joins the ranks of magnificent structures in this part of New York, whose splendid design and appearance are definitely something to reckon with.

Ang Dating Daan head faces raps for alleged fund misuse
SOME senior members of “Ang Dating Daan” have filed a complaint against Brother Eliseo Soriano before the Department of Justice for allegedly using the funds of the religious group for his personal interest. Based from the complaint filed before the office of Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, Ric Lo Estacio, president of ADD in Mangahan, Quezon City, said their group wanted Soriano, acknowledged leader of ADD, to explain whether the said allegations against him were true or not. Estacio said, according to the information they received, all donations and offerings of their members for their funds are reportedly being used by Soriano to allegedly bribe a judge to issue a favorable decision in the cases that he is now facing before the court. He claimed that there is also a possibility that Soriano may have used their funds in buying expensive cars, lands and even establishments. Estacio has also asked the DOJ to investigate Soriano and stop him from using their funds if the said allegations would be as true. He said he also pity the other members of ADD because of what is happening to their funds and other anomalies which also allegedly involved their leader. People’s Tonight tried to contact Soriano but to no avail.

Hindi naman sinabi ng grupo ang kaso ni Soriano na hawak ng judge. Hiniling din ng grupo na imbestigahan ang umano’y multibillion-peso na ari-arian at mamahaling sasakyan ni Soriano. “We are asking your honorable office to investigate it because we are surprised to find out that our contributions for the Church are being used not for the benefit and welfare of the church and its members, but for his own, personal use and purpose,” sabi ni Ric Lo Estacio, ADD Locale President, Manggahan, Pasig. “Ito ay malinaw na panloloko sa mga miyembro ng Ang Dating Daan,” sabi pa ni Estacio.

kita nyo tong taong eto mas nag alala pa sa awarding bodies/committe kesa sa samahan nila, anyway sa uulitin kung sasagot ka, sabi nga ni brod AAD "lagyan mo naman ng sustansya" pero ano pa nga ba ang aasahan namin sayo? eh para kang bata kung mag react.

Hindi siguro napanood ng mga comittee of judges ng nag-award sa kanila nyan yung tagpo na ineexplain ni Soriano ang distance ng araw sa earth, pati yung succession in office kapag namatay daw ang presidente ng Pilipinas, pati yung dahilan ng pagkakatiwalag ni Galileo sa Iglesia Katolika.
Ipadala kaya natin yung video nun sa panel ng award-giving body? Palagay ko mabilis pa sa alas-kwatro, babawiin ang award na yan.

Sayang lang at hindi ko nasave yung mga picture sa Kaanib.net Gallery. Nakita ko dati na mayroon silang piture doon na nakapost sa kanilang website na sila ay may Chess Tournamaent. Tinanggal na nila, alam siguro nila na bubuwelta na naman sa kanila yun.
Yung puno nila ayaw maglaro ng chess dahil Muslim daw ang nakaimbento pero yung mga miyembro ay may Chess tournament naman.
