1) these cuffs come from the official manufacture or from any of the unofficial manufacturers which operated in my country in the early 90s
2) it is from some czech show (I recognize the moderator), so I understand well and that man breaking the cuffs says: " it is impossible to rip them off across the chain, but possible to break the lock. It seems that he simply claspes his hands and break the lock owing to increase of matter of his wrists, but:
The two pawls are rotating around pin 3,0 mm thick, it is almost impossible to bend this pin because is only 8,0 mm long and it must be brutal force to bend such a short and thick pin... In addition the pin is made from very strong material.
Try to count a resisting moment of such a pin and it is very high level...
I know the personf from the manufacturer plant, I have a pair of RALK took apart at home and RALK are very strong cuffs, much stronger than Peerless or SW. Peerless has thinner pin. If he breaks them, then he is able to break every cuff.

The chinese prisoner in rigid handcuffs and
leg irons is a pretty good demo clip. the cuffs
look like two darby halfs with a pin through
the middle and a padlock to secure them.

I don't see a groove in the bows like US
handcuffs have, so making it easier to pull
the Ralk cuffs apart.

They donīt have grooves, but he didnīt pull the jaw aside, but looks like the jaw to be ripped out from the lock.
According to the official documentation from the Ministry of internal affairs, RALK are tested for ripping across the chain (in horizontal axis), the must withstand 4000 N and no deformation of cheekplates and the bow cannot be pulled out from the lock. In praxis they withstand cca 6200 N.

I think the cuffs were tampered with and tricked. Although I can't understand what they are saying but I can hear other sounds or lack of. I noticed that the person applying the handcuffs had a hard time locking the cuffs and it took some force to lock them on the wrists. Second, I didn't hear the usual clicking of the locking paws as it is tightened. And thirdly, he was faking how hard it was to break them open, I didn't see the usual color change from the force and stress to pull them open. Poor showmanship on his part for not playing it up a bit more to make it more interesting and realistic. Send him back to escapology, level kindergarten...

Hello @all
Also it's nearly impossible, that due to an overload-failure both sides open at the same time - I think this may be another hint for a tricked version of the handcuffs.
Kind regards

HI
I think they are nothing more than bridge jumpers!
If the guy was able to "pop" them off like that, only 1 side would give at a time, not both sides at exactly the same time.
Looked like the show host was faking the application as well.

I agree that the cuffs were PROBABLY tricked, and the entire stunt was a fake.
We once had one of those "body-builder" guys who perform across the country at Christian revivals - inquiring on this Forum...the idea is to use either faked cuffs or the cheapest possible ones - to demonstrate how they can break the cuffs - using the power of the "holy spirt', etc.
Yes, I am always first - a skeptic.

I think this stunt is a fake. I have seen real handcuffs broke in person by the John Jacobs Power Team (the guys Joe refered to)......they were using the Tiawan specials and they ripped the bows open on a couple of them. After they ripped the bows open, they re-locked them on their wrists, double locked them, and keep on trying until they broke the chain links between the cuffs. When they pulled the bows open, there was a much more violent, snapping, motion than this yahoo had. I also agree that both bows would not pop open at the same time. I think that this yahoo was using brige jumpers, held pressure on the non-movable bow until he wanted to "break them", then he just put a little downward pressure on them and the bows poped open. Again.....FAKE!!! My two cents.
