Untitled

I recently recieved a picture of a Peerless solid key, single link cuff with an odd logo on one movable bow. Has anyone seen this before or can tell me what it is ? It is almost a "broad arrow" but is a lot different.

Broad arrow

I have seen 2 differing versions of the Canadian Broad Arrow marked on cuffs I have found here in my country.

This sure looks like one of the variations.

Hello,

For anyone interested, this is the South African UDF (Union Defence Force) military mark, the broad arrow within an upright U.

UDF broad arrow

Cheers,

Does anyone know if any Commonwealth country used a "T" over a broad arrow as their mark?

I have a Darby with such a mark.

The seller just emailed to tell me the mark is for the RCMP, but I agree that it is probobally military and not RCMP. Any thoughts ?

Where there may be a mix up

Many of the early cuffs I have seen in Canada which bore this mark, i.e. Marlins, Tower Bean, etc were once used by the military and then seem to have been handed down for use to the NWMP or as they are known today, the RCMP.

The mark is not a Mountie mark but is military.

Indeed these cuffs may have been passed down to the RCMP for use with the mark still intact as I have seen many, many times.

No mark

BTW, The Mounties never had thier own symbol or logo mark with which to stamp cuffs or pistols, etc.
