New book project

Steve Santini

Hi all.

I have recently begun work on a new restraint related fully illustrated book that will be my first such effort since I authored and released my "Devices of Human Restraint" many years back.

The working title for my new book is:

"Ancient Restraints and Instruments of Torture: How They Function and Where They Were Used."

Unlike previous books related to this subject which have mostly relied period woodcuts and illustrations of the devices in use I will be trying to make this one different by the use of models to illustrate how the instruments were applied and how they operated.

If all goes well I will also be including insights from medical professionals that will shed light on the effects such instruments would have on the body.

Photos will be mostly of devices in my own collection but will also include period illustrations.

With any luck, this volume should be ready to go to the printers by the end of the summer.

Cheers, Steve Santini

Steve,

Looking forward to seeing the new book. If it is ready by October, maybe you could attend the Cannon convention. I'm sure there will be many collectors there that would be interested in not only purchasing the book but meeting and talking with you.

Damn!

I want a copy.

I'm looking forward to seeing it hit the streets.

Thanks to you both for the kind words of encouragement.

There is no way I will be able to attend the convention this year even if I wanted to.

Over the past several months I have been working with a Hollywood production company that optioned an original television series screenplay I created for a unique extreme escape artist themed show.

They have completed the sizzler reel and written pitch and have been meeting with major networks these past few weeks.

It seems at this time they have a couple of heavy hitter networks interested in it and if all goes well I will likely be in Europe, Asia, the former USSR, and USA filming parts of it this spring and summer.

If this goes through it will likely appear on television this Fall and my time then will probably be spent in promoting it for the network.

This alone will effectively tie up all my time.

Cheers, Steve
