What's this? The German is all wrong. Do we have to invade you ... again? : )

And how is your ....Dutch,Nils? Better than my German? happy.gif

Invade us again? Why? To let us join you on another battle at the eastern front? LOL

Maybe it is a better idea to 'invade' us during the summer season and enjoy life at the beach

Liebe Grüsse aus Holland happy.gif

Hello,

I like the spelling - it's exactly like my colleague Theodoor from the Netherlandes speakes German. Very typical - like Rudi Carell, Mareike Amado, Linda de Mol and all the other Dutch celebrities at German TV.

Best regards,
Guenter

It's probably the other way around nowadays, judging from the never ending amount of caravans on our autobahns.

Are there any German entertainers in the Netherlands? The way I see it, you people owe us for taking yours!

@ Nils: you should see Scheveningen beach now. Full of Germans...eating our version of the Bratwurst (not bad, but I prefer the original Thüringer Bratwurst). Any way, Germans are welcome overhere. Good question about entertainers. Thinking about it, only one name comes up; Danny Christian, a Schlagersänger wo was populair years ago.

If I may speak for all of us in the US, I do not understand what this discussion is all about.
Apparently, the spelling or usage of the German language is not accurate. Maybe it is like our rednecks speaking a bit differently from the mainstream population.
Can one of you Euro friends explain what is going on here?

By all means, mr.Anonymous happy.gif

I made a fun advertisement with a slogan in (school)German. However it seems to be wrong somewhere...
In English the slogan means something like "The real handcuffs. Also for our junior policemen"
Nils, a German, made some good jokes about it; that's all.

It was all in good humor. I'm sorry if something appeared angry here.
Europe has really grown together over the last few years, it's just fun to play on some old ideas. And fears.

Liked the idea with photoshop. Sorry if it came out the wrong way (That does happen to me sometime). Maybe it's the heat.

It's a Euro thing.

Nils, I recommend to use some emoticons - [linked image] [linked image] [linked image] [linked image] [linked image] * - they really help to avoid such misunderstandings, which are typical fort he web.

Hi everyone,

I just came across this thread and I am happy it came to a good end...

In fact me and my family are in the Netherlands, if possible, once a year for a week or so; we then visit Egmond aan Zee and during the whole time I live from the dutch food and drinks that I love so much and that we do not have in Germany: Frikandellen met saté sauce, kaas-souflees, stroop-waffeltjes, choco-mel, cassis-soda and much more...

And of course we go to all flee-markets we can find and buy all old restraints we can get hold of!

Best to all of you,

Michael

THAT DOES IT!
If a guy that get get fine German food on any street corner, finds the food better in other parts of Europe, I will attend the Belgium Convention for sure!
How does the food in Belgium compare to other Euro cities?
(Chocolate goes without saying)

@ Michael: enjoy your visit, have fun and eat as much as you like. I will visit Germany next year (Eiffel and Rhön area) and am looking forward to the food, the landscape and the hospitality overthere.

@ Lindsay: I can recommend the food in Antwerp for sure. You can find anything you like in this beautifull city happy.gif Peter(Cuffman) knows al good restaurants, no doubt.

Regards,

Dirk

I agree that Peter knows some very good restaurants in Belgium. We also had excellent food at his home and his Parents home. I also really liked the herring and other food in the Netherlands.

I spent a week in Brussels, a bunch of years ago. I will confirm that the food was superb.

As long as Michael eats no vegetables and gets all his vitamins from cherry-beer, I wouldn't trust his comments on food happy.gif
