New Hiatt Thompson 2222 Cuffs

July 9 2009 at 2:03 PM

It looks like H-T changed their HT-2222 handcuffs when I wasn't looking.

The original was a non-mirrored, low end cuff that was lighter and thinner than the standard 1010 / 2010.

The new cuff is an essentially unmarked Taiwanese knock off of the 1010 / 2010. They are the same weight, but have flush rather than proud rivets, and have a very shiny, probably chome, plating. They are serialized on one bow, and marked, "TAIWAN," but bear no name or logo.

Several of us predicted the thinner cuffs wouldn't be around long, but I didn't guess they'd do it this way.

They're not listed in H-T's online catalog, so I have no idea what's going on.
