Hiatt 1960 flat key handcuffs

October 8 2011 at 4:56 PM

Hi to all,

I recently came across very interesting info about the version of Hiatt 1960 handcuffs, but modified to operate on flat key. They should have a rotating barrel, similar like RALK and RALKEM handcuffs.

I heard this infor from the old guy, who worked for the Ministry of Internal Affairs in formem Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. I was told they had visited UK in the late 1960 and brought several of these specimens, possibly directly from Hiatt Company.

Has any of you seen this specimen, or at least heard about it? Is it possible that these were modified as a pattern for our police forces???

Thanks for any info.

Dear Josef,

Michael Busch shows one on his Web page http://vincula.de/3535.html , with the caption "Hiatt Model 1960 Solid Key Pattern". This is Michael's picture.

Hi,

I know these solid key modifications - there are at least 4 specimens in the collections worldwide. But I have never heard about flat key specimens...

Josef
