Hi Gary,
I'm not against primes and usually the legs can do the zooming (often finding better angles in the process) in the mid range anyway. I'm fairly confident that using a prosumer hasn't made me too lazy as I still enjoy the film SLR - but using primes and not a zoom other than the excellent 28-48. A shame it's Olympus and they went 4:3 making the 17mm 34 and the 50mm 100.
'Sanity' will only prevail with me opting for Canon or Nikon if I can tolerate the viewfinders, and when I last looked I prefered the 20D - but of course not its price . Hence these questions about independent wide angles that may potentially allow Minolta and Pentax to stay in the frame.
