Seems like 210-240 is a common focal length based on that thread, so I just need to learn how to best use it now.
I'm also glad to hear the grain looks good. I've not played with different agitation techniques yet. I need to get it right with 1 method first, which means using the right amount of chemistry! I agitate for the first minute, then for 10 seconds each minute afterward. It seems to be a matter of personal preference for some people, opting to agitate every 30 seconds for 5 seconds, etc. Of course the developer and film dictate what you have to do as well. I have a box of staining developer (Pyrocat HD) here I'm looking forward to using, and I believe you have to continuously agitate when using that.
I believe I read that more agitation can lead to more grain. I think I read you get better highlight detail as the chemicals don't over process, but less shadow detail as it takes longer to lift out of the shadows. The opposite occurs with less agitation, better grain and shadows, but worse highlight detail. Does that sound right, in general?
